Probably to avoid just creating a simple "model", while wishing to give an idea of movement to the hélicopter, the sculptor found the idea to represent the propeller's rotation by a fine steel spiral which winds around the machinel, thus symbolizing the extremity of the propeller which screw on the air and seem to make the helicopter taking off.
The Big Gull project (see in the Big Gull page of this site) gave the idea to the sculptor to produce this helicopter. In the same way he observes with birds, Alexandre always leaves quickly his workshop at the first hearing of the buzz of one of them. He is even able to draw their silhouette and to identify them by their name: Lark, Squirrel, Dolphin... Animals names so close from his favorites subjects !
